If you need to clean house, just invite company over!

I'm not known as the best housekeeper in the world, and living with 2 hairy shedding dogs doesn't help. When I vacuum, or should I say when my Hubby vacuums, there's enough to make a brand new dog. anyway, we're having friends over from Grand Junction, Co to go see Vinnie Castilla play his last game with the Colorado Rockies. We used to go to a lot of Rockies game when Larry Walker, Dante Bichette, Andres Galaraga, and Vinnie were known as the Blake Street Bombers. Lots of fun. If we brought friends from way out of town, there was always the fun of getting them to try "Rocky Mountain Oysters" and then seeing the look on their faces when they found out what they really were. Enough said... thanks, Vinnie, for being a great player and a stand up person. We're glad you've come home to Denver to retire and be part of the Rockies.

SNOW!
Welcome to Colorado, home of 4 distinct seasons. Getting ready to snow, snowing, melting and construction. Did you know that the Orange construction cone is the state flower of Colorado due to it's abundance. Just kidding but it seems that way sometimes. Up here in the mountains we have a growing season of 12 weeks if we're lucky. We used to try to grow tomatoes in pots on our deck but they would still be little green rocks when the first frost would come. OK everyone haul the pots into the house at night then back out in the morning. The dang little things never would ripen. I finally got smart and headed to the farmers market. Way cheaper in the long run

Thursday September 21, 2006

This would have been our Father's 80th Birthday. Happy Birthday Dad. You were a great role model for both of your kids and gave us our life long obsession with sports. Much to our Mom's dismay, most weekends were spent firmly planted in front of the TV watching Football, Basketball, Hockey, or if there wasn't ANY other event with a stick or ball, the ever mind numbing PGA. We miss you!
