Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!!!

Occasionally the weather Gurus do get it right. First real snow of the season. We don't count the pansy-assed "flurries" we got last week. It has to be sliding down the hill in 4-wheel drive, searching under the seat for the snow brush, looking for any gloves even the funny little purple Walmart dollar gloves kind of snow. Around a foot on the level. CNN actually broadcast from good ole Idaho Springs this morning. Whoopee we made the big time. It's really good for the ski areas, though. That and snow on Monday night Football do more for Colorado Tourism than all the big bucks promotions in the world. It used to be a favorite game to watch the flatlanders try to navigate the mountains in a blizzard. Those of us who worked in the Tourist industry (You know who you are) recall with fondness the fine visitors to our state who would in all seriousness inquire if we could actually live way up here in the mountains all winter or did we have to move down to Denver to go to school and buy groceries. We would just nod our heads and point to the interstate highway about 100 yards behind them. Then we'd sell them stuff and send them on
their way. Thanks to all of you for coming to Colorado.
