Our Apache

We've known something was wrong for a few weeks now. Wolves don't show pain, it's not their style. When Apache started limping and having trouble with his paw and leg, it was time to get it checked out. We have 2 of the most wonderful Vets for our boys ( The Vet on South Wadsworth) and they checked out all sorts of things it could be. After an Ultra Sound it was detirmined that Apache has Cancer in his shoulder that is affecting the muscle and bone. It has also spread to his chest. The Vets told us we could operate and maybe give him a few months more but at what cost to his quality of life. We've decided to let God decide when He's ready for Apache. Lots of treats, outtings when he's able and a whole lot of love. Apache will be 14 in the spring. We've been blessed to have him in our household for 3 years.

Hi Sis, great picture of Apache! I was stunned to hear the news, and also very surprised to hear he was 14! I had no idea, he seemed so young.

I think you made a wise choice, one that we made with Bailey also. The quality of life has to be balanced with the amount of time left, and it i always so very hard to see your pet (no, your family) suffer.

Hang in there,
Bro

He's beautiful. That's so sad. They don't live long enough.
